This morning I received the excellent news that our eco-friendly (water-regulating) local neighborhood park Domela Nieuwenhuisplantsoen will be conserved, and will probably even receive an upgrade.
The existence of the D.N.plantsoen has been under attack for many years by local politics, but thanks to the continuing efforts of a core group within the 10 year old growing local community with the same name, finally the local government has decided to keep the park as a park, and not build houses or a hotel on those few square meters.The eco friendly community spirit has won over neoliberal and capitalist interests. Now, that is a huge achievement that deserves to be mentioned and hopefully shared. For more information, in Dutch, see the FB page

Also, this morning I noticed a vacancy for a job that interests me. Tomorrow morning I will dedicate my time to write a hopefully impressive and attractive application letter.
